FAITH FORMATION OPPORTUNITIES
FOR CHILDREN
PREP - Parishes Religious Education Program (previously called PSR & ERE) -This program is designed to foster spiritual growth and give spiritual instruction to children of St. John & St. Saviour parishes. The program is for children 3 years of age throuh 8th grade - not attending a Catholic elementary school. Classes are held on Sundays from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. September thru April. Mommy & Me - This group is for all children, infant through preschool, and their special adult. Check the Bulletin for dates and times. Gatherings take place in Letterst Hall. The hour consists of music, crafts, and activities all with a Christian base.
RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation adapted for children-Provides an opportunity for unbaptized and uncatechized children who have reached the catechetical age of 7 to be initiated into full Communion with the Catholic Church and our community by preparing for the reception of the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist & Confirmation. Depending on the readiness of the child this process may take from 1-3 years.
FOR HIGH SCHOOL
Parish Youth are welcome and encouraged to take an active role in any of the liturgical ministries, Parish Commissions, faith formation and social opportunities that the parish provides.
Youth Ministry - All Saints Catholic Church (next to Moeller High school) welcomes youth of all parishes to join their youth group. There is a 7th & 8th grade youth group for Junior High and a 9th -12th grade youth group for High School. PSR Catechists (teachers & aides) - Parish adults and teens serve as Religious Education Catechists (teachers & aides) for the PSR Program. Various programs are offered periodically in the parish and throughout the Archdiocese to further the knowledge of the catechist in the Catholic faith that, in turn, allows them to better educate and share faith with their students. Anyone interested in this ministry should contact the Parish Office.
FOR ADULTS
Scripture Study - Several groups join together to explore the meaning of the Scriptures and how it applies to our daily lives. There is a group who meets on Thursday mornings, 10:00-11:00 am, September thru May in Letterst Hall.
RCIA Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults - An opportunity for those who approach the Catholic Faith for the first time to experience and learn Catholic beliefs and the Catholic sense of community. This faith journey is nurtured by the community where participants come together to learn, to share, and focus on faith. The process is ongoing and may take 1-3 yrs., depending on the individuals readiness to participate.
Catholic Men’s Fellowship - This group of men meet on the second and fourth Sundays of each month at 7:30 am. Meetings are open to any man in the parish, high school age and older, who would like to spend some time with their fellow brothers in Christ for prayer, faith sharing, and to encourage one another in their responsibilities as Catholic men.
Baptism Preparation Class - This monthly program offers instruction for parents prior to the Baptism of their first child. The goal of this class is to deepen the parents and godparents understanding of and participation in the sacrament, enabling them to more fully accompany their child on their journey of faith.
