UPDATE: Executive Summery July 2009
Executive Summary draft of letter to Archdiocese
This executive summary has to be approved
before it is sent to the Archdiocese. The big item will be the site
change to OLSH campus in Fall of 2010. That decision was based on the independent
study done on both sites. OLSH can hold about 80 more students
without any changing of library and computer rooms. It is a newer
building. Everything is in A1 shape. They have 25 acres of land.
They have a full size gym, and their kitchen is in A1 condition. We
would be able to serve those who qualify free lunches which we are
not able to do now because St. John/SNA present kitchen would have
to under go some serious renovations to be able to do that.
One of the things SNA is now working on is
having drop off sites and after school programs at each parish where
our children can be dropped off and transported to school and then
transported back after school where their parents can pick them up.
There is to be childcare available at each site.
We want what is best for our children. Both
schools are well equipped now. Combined we should be spectacular.
Everything has to be approved by our board
and by the Archdiocese.

A message from Fr. Tom regarding
Catholic Schools:
On Wednesday, May 27th representatives
from St. Nicholas Academy, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Sts. Peter
and Paul, and St. Clement met to discuss the future of Catholic
education in the area. Members of the committee have been
appointed from St. Nicholas and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
St. Clement will appoint members within a week. Sts. Peter and
Paul represented by Fr. Howard and business manager Mike Schweitzer
attended as interested parties. The agenda was set by
committee chair David Reker, Assistant Superintendant of Schools of
the Archdiocese.
Future meeting dates have been
established over the course of the summer. An executive
summary of the minutes will be dispersed to all parishioners after
each meeting. Please keep the committee in your prayers as
they work to ensure Catholic education for all the children of our
area. |
